The Weekend So Far

Friday started out sticky and humid but by evening it was overcast and cooler, so we were able to have dinner on the deck. Andrew and Jen came over and we celebrated his new job, which he starts on Monday. We had a yummy pork loin that Drew had brined and then glazed...see the mouth-watering picture. It's a recipe he created featuring bourbon and molasses, and has promised to give me.

After they left, Kevin and I took a little walk in a very light rain shower. Delightful evening!

On Saturday I did obsessive cleaning projects like scrubbing the shower and purging old recipes that I've never used. I also made this card for a just-one swap, and went to see Mamma Mia with Judy. We totally enjoyed it. Yeah, it's not high art but it's very entertaining, with gorgeous scenery (Greece!) and even made me tear up at the mom-daughter song. If you remember listening to ABBA songs on the 8 track player of a car that was not an import, and you have actually been to a disco, and you are a woman, then you are the right demographic for this movie.

And I still have all Sunday to have adventures!
